In addition, the preferred candidate has the ability to coordinate multiple activites; is comfortable using various computer applications and is a highly effective team member.

Duties Description The AA1 will provide administrative support to the Bureau of Specialized Services for Children (BSSC) within the Division of Program Development and Management (DPDM). The BSSC oversees and manages the following programs and services for Medicaid members birth to age 21 years old: Health Home Serving Children’s (HHSC) program, the 1915 (c) Children’s Waiver of Home and Community Based Services (HCBS), Children and Family Treatment and Supportive Services (CFTSS), and 29-I Health Facilities by foster care agencies. The incumbent will assist with scheduling meetings, conference calls, and webinars; coordinating Bureau leadership calendars and programming/scheduling calls with internal and external partners; handling incoming telephone calls from providers, members and other stakeholders (including maintaining live coverage and monitoring voicemail messages and distributing telephone calls/voicemails to appropriate professional staff); designing, setting-up and maintaining office electronic filing systems; sending announcements to list servs and distribution lists; tracking assignments, logging and tracking documents for approvals; assisting with new staff recruitments (including scheduling interviews, preparing interview materials, and onboarding new staff); maintaining staffing rosters and contact lists. Posting to and maintaining website. Management of developed/updated forms and obtaining translation for bureau documents. Other appropriate related duties as assigned.

Additional Comments The Bureau of Specialized Services for Children (BSSC) develops programs and services specific to children/youth needs. The BCCS works with many internal and external partners and manages numerous policies, and guidance, Waiver and State Plan Amendment (SPA) documents. Organization, collaboration and monitoring the work of these programs and services is necessary to ensure proper implementation and service delivery to Medicaid members.For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.
