The Raytheon Australia Mobile Threat Training Emitting System (MTTES) program delivers, operates and sustains an Electronic Warfare (EW) training capability for the ADF across Australian training areas.

Right now the MTTES program is experiencing exciting growth across the country and we are looking for expressions of interest to join the MTTES Operations Team in the roles of Mission Director and Mission Lead.

The Mission Director will drive the development and employment of the MTTES mission system. Based on engagement with Air Warfare Instructors and customer executives Mission Directors will develop training requirements to enhance MTTES’s mission system effectiveness to support the training objectives of the ADF.

The Mission Lead role is a key operational leadership position within the MTTES team supporting all aspects of mission planning and execution of MTTES operations. Advanced knowledge of Military Air Operations (Fast-Jet or EW/ISR ideally), Airborne Electronic Attack operations, C2ISR or intelligence support to operations will be valued.

The Role:

  • Assist in or lead the development and execution of simulated Integrated Air Defence System (IADS) training scenarios for various ADF flying activities.

  • Execute the delivery of IADS scenarios as the scenario lead within the MCC.

  • Plan and execute training packages to achieve complex training effects.

  • Brief, lead and debrief a team of controllers, operators and other support staff within the MCC during mission execution.

  • Provide accurate and succinct tactical execution debriefs to Defence customers/operators.

  • Prepare written reports, briefings, analysis and tailored mission products to Defence customers/operators.

  • Operate in a combined team to engage with ADF planning executives to develop effective and achievable MTTES operational plans.

The Person:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Military Air Operations (Fast-Jet or EW/ISR ideally), C2ISR or intelligence support to operations roles. For the Mission Director role ideally Qualified Aircrew (B CAT preferred) or Air Warfare Instructor (or equivalent) on an EW enabled air platform or Air Defence Commander.

  • Proven understanding of military EW systems and proven ability to work both as an individual and as a member of a team.

  • Demonstrated experience in a training role.

  • Knowledge of strategic and operational technical intelligence processing, exploitation and dissemination procedures.

  • Strongly developed interpersonal skills and able to influence stakeholders at an operational level and the ability to develop solutions that meet complex customer requirements.

  • Demonstrated experience with planning and scheduling range availability for multiple configurations and multiple customers.
