Job Summary

The Regional Vice President of Operations oversees ESS Alaska's land-based operations, directing and implementing operational programs, policies, and procedures to ensure contract compliance, profitability, safety, and client satisfaction across multiple accounts in the United States. This role involves managing all operational and business activities either directly or through subordinate managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage catering and facilities management services at multiple locations to ensure compliance with client service level agreements.

  • Achieve financial outcomes, including delivering budget and unit cost targets for each service at all assigned locations.

  • Supervise District and Project Managers to ensure adherence to ESS policies/procedures, manage operational needs, and meet client scope of work and standards.

  • Oversee areas such as personnel management, laundry management, and resource allocation, ensuring adequate resources and detailed manpower plans are in place.

  • Proactively manage Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) initiatives, ensuring safe outcomes at each site and tracking proactive behaviors.

  • Build and maintain customer relationships, agreeing on satisfaction metrics and standards with site managers and delivering on them.

  • Drive proactive cost savings initiatives as per contract requirements.

  • Travel regularly (50%+) to client sites across multiple regions, effectively managing key performance indicators and completing cost tracking and labor review documentation.

  • Submit all financial documentation for account management, execute contract scope management, and manage subcontractors effectively.

  • Develop project plans, utilize project management software, and execute deliverables proficiently.

  • Supervise 4-5 direct reports and up to 500 total employees, providing overall direction, coordination, and evaluation in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university; or 5 to 7 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in food service management, particularly with a catering background in the offshore and/or remote site arena.

  • Ability to travel 15-20% within the assigned territory.

  • Hospitality or hotel operations experience.

  • Regional or multi-unit management experience.
