Summary
CAE USA, Defense & Security welcomes experienced weapons and simulation engineers to help train U.S. Armed Forces and those of our partners around the world. This is a rewarding mission you will be proud to support.
You will design, develop, test, and integrate real-time weapon simulations for military training devices. This is a hands-on, full life cycle simulation engineering position for experienced weapons and simulation engineers who desire to grow beyond traditional boundaries and create enduring solutions for a truly meaningful purpose.
Affinity for aviation and flight skills not required – but this role will provide the opportunity for both!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Identify complex problems and provide solution options within program constraints
Quickly and effectively breakdown assignments and requirements into work tasks
Understand, create, and communicate complex design specifications in varying formats
Utilize experience, judgment, and logic to perform cost-benefit analysis
Succinctly provide schedule and effort estimates for various tasks
Meet or exceed cost, schedule, and quality commitments
Develop scalable, high-fidelity weapons simulations for real-time training applications
Integrate weapon simulation software with avionics, datalink, sensor, and simulator architecture
Create new weapon models using both established and innovative modeling techniques
Design, develop, code, integrate and test weapon simulation software to meet requirements
Perform integration and configuration of cross-platform weapon simulations
Fly real military flight simulators to conduct testing and evaluation of delivered weapon simulations
Troubleshoot and maintain existing weapon simulation models
Participate in peer reviews, identify, track and repair defects
Mentor and guide other engineers from a technical and career perspective
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Security Clearance
At least 8 years of applicable experience
Understanding of weapon flight dynamics
Understanding of guidance, navigation, and controls
Understanding of weapon interfaces
Understanding of aircraft mux interface
Experience with coordinate system transforms
Experience developing software for analysis and modeling
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to travel as needed (Domestic and International)
Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role
Preferred Skills
7+ years of combined experience in the following languages:
C++ / Fortran / Ada
Git / Jira / Confluence
Ability to lead other engineers in a highly collaborative team environment

Security Responsibilities
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
Work Environment
Highly collaborative closed room environment with open office space for unclassified tasks. Job duties include regular interaction with fixed base, full cockpit military aircraft simulators, and include the opportunity to learn to fly the aircraft simulation.
