Amazon Sr. Research Manager, Customer Trust External Relations in Arlington, Virginia

Customer Trust External Relations (CTXR) ensures global thought-leaders, brands, policymakers, and media understand how Amazon delivers Earth's safest and most trustworthy shopping experience by (1) delivering evidence and telling stories that persuasively demonstrate the reality of the customer-obsessed tools our teams build to protect our customers, brands, and selling partners, (2) accelerating and strengthening third-party, influential relationships and partnerships all over the world that raise the bar for retail to consumers’ benefit, and (3) serving as a “voice of the customer” for product and tech teams.

CTXR creates programs with content that demonstrates and celebrates the positive work of Amazon and our research charter focuses on not only measuring our perception among these global targets, but generating insights for improving perception and prioritizing solutions with our product and tech team partners.

We are looking for an individual with a strong market research background and a passion for solving unique problems to help us drive world class market research. Our ideal candidate is someone who is curious and customer obsessed, and loves solving complex problems. You enjoy building things from scratch, are comfortable with change and ambiguity, and relish the chance to solve hard problems in short order. You recognize that the true measure of success of your work is based on the business impact your findings have over time.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead design and execution of primary research studies (leveraging both qualitative and quantitative methods) to generate actionable insights and recommendations for stakeholder teams

• Lead foundational research to help understand how to influence and move the needle on perception metrics among influentials

• Lead research and analysis that helps measure the impact of programs and initiatives on perception metrics among influentials

• Apply sound research and business acumen to help the business not just solve complex questions but help it look around corners.

• Design scalable and nimble mechanisms that help scale quantitative and qualitative research solutions, tools and processes

• Build and manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external agency partners

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in marketing or marketing research

  • Experience in audience segmentation and targeting

  • Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements

  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in business, marketing, statistics or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating and executing integrated marketing lead generation campaigns using tactics that include live or virtual events, webinars, email, lead nurture programs, and CRM/sales insights

  • Experience with Salesforce and Tableau
