The Job

The SR Privacy Analyst provides privacy assistance and subject matter expertise on privacy, data protection, and data governance issues as they relate to contract requirements and the evaluation of new technologies, applications, or processes. You will partner with business units and brands to articulate and execute privacy by design principles. You will contribute to the definition, development, implementation and maintenance of corporate privacy compliance requirements. You will conduct compliance audits and track remediation issues for privacy frameworks.

The Day-to-Day

  • Gather information for third party vendors with respect to privacy related issues
  • Learn and understand business strategies and priorities and their implications on privacy and data use, technology architecture and standards and data governance
  • Conduct controls assessments on systems and processes to assess compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and ongoing compliance monitoring to ensure that all privacy concerns, requirements and responsibilities are addressed
  • Monitor and track global privacy and data protection regulatory frameworks
  • Monitor and track compliance with self-regulatory compliance programs
  • Support privacy training and improvement materials and conducts training regarding privacy and quality awareness
  • Research and respond to privacy-related questions from customers, employees and regulators
  • Collaborate with applicable IT and business teams to create and maintain data inventory and documentation
  • Maintains current knowledge of the federal, state, and global rules, regulations, and guidance related to security and privacy including EU Data Protection, FTC and FCC regulations

The Essentials

  • Five (5) years minimum of data privacy or information security experience related to marketing, internet and/or technology required
  • In-depth understanding of information security and privacy policies, principles and technologies knowledge of applicable privacy laws and common risk frameworks
  • CIPT, CIPP, CISSP, CISM, CISA or other industry related certification
  • Working knowledge of technology, industry best practices privacy laws, regulations and self-regulatory models required
  • Working knowledge of published security standards (ISO, NIST, PCI) required
  • Experience interpreting privacy regulations
  • Experience with conducting privacy risk assessments in large scale operational environments
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments in expected timeframes
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Access
