MAG Configuration Management Specialist in Augusta, Georgia

Position Summary

Configuration management is a system engineering process for establishing and maintaining consistency of a product's performance, functional, and physical attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information throughout its life. Working closely with system managers, systems engineers, software developers, test engineers, quality manager, technical writers, and government representatives in a concurrent engineering environment. Coordinate, develop, and administer Configuration Management Plan. Maintain physical and functional configuration management over managed hardware and software systems with cyclic updates and version controls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Performing configuration management processes throughout the lifecycle of the program, including baselining of hardware, software, and documentation; preparation of change control board packages; facilitation of change control meetings; and configuration audits.

  • Performing data management processes throughout the lifecycle of the program, including management of hundreds of Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) with multiple deliveries.

  • Performing CM/DM inventory and CDRL deliverable processes and functions.

  • Accurately maintaining and updating Jira.

  • Supporting data calls for CM/DM-related data.

  • Chairs the Configuration Control Board (CCB) and enacts changes as directed.

  • Plan and execute configuration management processes throughout the project lifecycle, including development, migration, deployment, and security.

  • Oversee the daily management of configuration items.

  • Perform CM audits for deliveries and management documentation and information.

  • Develop and maintain release process and release management repositories using appropriate tools, such as Jira, SharePoint, and Confluence, etc.

  • Promote continuous release delivery and help establish release.

  • Facilitate CM process training.

  • Perform audits on System Project Books.

  • Audits on the quarterly baselines.

  • Hold weekly meetings with both internal and external teams to track schedule, CDRLs creation/updates, review, procedures.

  • Track the TRR Checklist. Review, compile, and package the CDRLs for delivery.

  • Compile the documents for delivery.

  • Hold a CM/QA Audit meeting for hard drive/Blob deliveries

Requirements

Knowledge and Skills .

  • 5 + years of experience with software and hardware systems management is required.

  • 5 + years of experience as a configuration manager involving hardware and software CI

  • Experience with software configuration management tools and documentation.

  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-1916, 3046 and MIL HDBK-61A, IEEE Guide to Software Configuration Management

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.

  • Must be able to lift/move 30 lbs., boxes, equipment as needed.

  • 5% travel required. Possible OCONUS travel may be required.

Education / Certifications

  • Education: BS/BA

  • Certification: Sec+, CCNA

  • Experience: 5+ years working DOD/Army network

Clearance

  • SECRET

Desired Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in Configuration management.

  • Knowledge of the Five Functions of Configuration Management.

  • Experience with Jira/Confluence, SharePoint, Microsoft Office.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (including MS Office suite, Visio, and Project).

  • CCNP
