Job Summary:

Conan O’Brien is TV's longest running late night host and one of the most successful, respected comedians in America. He's currently the host of CONAN on the TBS cable television network. An Emmy Award winner, O’Brien began his career as a writer for Saturday Night Live and The Simpsons where he developed his original brand of comedy, living at the intersection of smart and silly, that has inspired a generation of comedians and writers who came after him. Named by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world . Earlier this year, O’Brien's digital company, “Team Coco”, entered into a Joint Venture with TBS to create an omnichannel digital media company that both expands and diversifies Conan’s fanbase and capitalizes on new business opportunities such as podcasts, live events, and branded digital content.

In order for Team Coco to grow successfully, the company will need a Business Affairs Director to oversee strategy, process, and execution of all talent and commercial partnerships. Team Coco is a collaborative organization and this role will live at the intersection of many functions. As a result, the Business Affairs Director must work with stakeholders across functions to gather input and satisfy business requirements .

Responsibilities (included, but not limited to):

  • Drafting, managing, negotiating, and organizing all of our contracts and contract templates
  • Forging holistic deals with our talent network that include participation in podcasts, live events, branded digital content, social media commitments, and more
  • Papering general course of business agreements like leases, equipment rentals, location agreements, etc
  • Negotiating deals for upstream and derivative IP exploitation
  • Collaborating with Business Development on commercial partnership strategy and execution
  • Collaborating with Talent and Content teams to understand business requirements and realize them vis a vis our contract agreements
  • Collaborating with outside counsel on specific issues (e.g. potential union and guild concerns)
  • Providing general legal guidelines/oversight for original content
  • Working directly with the COO and CEO on legal matters pertaining to the corporate entity and its parent


  • Juris Doctor
  • 5+ years working experience in Business Affairs or a related function
  • Attention to detail, meticulously organized
  • Firm grasp on the constantly evolving landscape of digital media (podcasts, digital video, social media, etc.) and an understanding of deal structures in these emerging formats
  • Passion for comedy and a desire to be a part of a fast-moving, digital media company
