Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Emergency Medical Technician in Cass Lake, Minnesota

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Division: Health Reports to: EMS/Ambulance Director Worksite: Il-IS Facility/Ambulance area Work Hours: Shift Work (8:00 am-4:00 pm, 4:00 pm-12:00 am, 12:00 am-8:00 am) as needed or assigned. LLBO Status: Non-Exempt Safety Sensitive: Yes License/Certification Requirements: Must be currently an Emergency Medical Technician and be registered with the MN Emergency Medical Service Regulatory Board at the time of application. Must have a valid MN Driver's License, current insurance or be insurable. Summary: To adequately staff the ambulance service with certified Emergency Medical Technicians and to provide 24-hour medical services. Duties/Responsibilities: Adhere to ambulance policies, procedures, standing orders and protocols. Adhere to policies governing staff conduct. Work a minimum of four (4) scheduled shifts per month at part-time status or 32 hours per week minimum fulltime status. Attend all scheduled and unscheduled in-service sessions and staff meetings. Complete all necessary and mandatory training in a timely manner. Must wear uniform and dress appropriately for extreme weather. Responsible for: maintaining ambulance unit's cleanliness, restocking of equipment. Responsible for: maintaining work/office space as assigned. Responsible for completing a vehicle check for each scheduled shift. Responsible for completing documentation for all ambulance calls. Responsible for: gathering insurance information and HIPPA privacy information on each patient. Represent the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, Health Division and Ambulance Service in a positive and professional manner. Submit to alcohol/drug testing. Attend and or conduct all mandatory meetings and trainings as required. Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics at all times. Ability to travel: in and out of the state on a possibly regular basis. Understanding and sensitivity to Native American culture. Other related duties as assigned. Adhere to policies governing staff conduct.
