Robert Half Financial Analyst in Collierville, Tennessee

Description If you've always wanted to work in the Logistics industry, Robert Half is hiring a devoted Financial Analyst to join a fast-growing company. In this position, you will conduct financial modeling on various financial products as well as have responsibility for measuring, analyzing, and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans. We will be relying on you for advising management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives and preparing reports for management. You will join a dynamic team as a key business partner in areas including forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. Located in the Collierville, Tennessee, area, this Financial Analyst role is a long-term contract / contract employment opportunity. We seek someone who has internal drive and strong potential for detail oriented growth and development.

Major responsibilities

  • Support contacts in Accounting and Operations to execute business plans

  • Candidate that feels comfortable working with large amounts of information and handling expectations

  • Present and monitor forecasting reports

  • Power monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required

  • Contribute to weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting

  • Work with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization

  • Work with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process

  • Create effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and recommendation support

  • Review annual performance by comparing actual results to their expectations

  • Understand and explain internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending

  • Analyze performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities Requirements - Skills in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly desired (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

  • Strong communication skills and able to receive criticism well

  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required

  • Deep understanding of PeopleSoft

  • Payroll for over 500 employees experience highly desired

  • Operation auditing experience

  • SQL experience required

  • Proven knowledge of analysis

  • SOX experience desired

  • Well-founded grasp of Multiple Databases

  • Active problem-solver who listens for customer cues and actively resolves problems with grace and integrity

  • Candidates with Spreadsheet and ERP system experience will be prioritized

  • BA/BS degree in finance or a related field

  • Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience ideal)

  • Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
