WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The Global Swim Designer is responsible for the creation and commercialization of the Global Swim line by season. You will take direction from Global Swim Design management on overall intent of the range across key trends, direction, and seasonal inspiration but with a specific focus on swim. We are looking for a highly motivated, knowledgeable and skilled designer.
Design from ideation to commercialized product for the entire swim division
Exceptional ability to apply and perform design skills, including drawing/sketching, use of materials, fit/function
Work closely with cross functional design teams, to ensure cohesiveness across all categories
Responsible for initial swim trend research, to determine concepts, color, fabric, silhouette, trim direction needed for swim
Ability to build seasonal presentations, color stories & deliveries by season
Participate in seasonal inspiration, line reviews, sales meetings and studio photoshoots
Preparation/creation of tech packs in PLM, along with provide spec & fit direction
Good interpretation of domestic & global fashion trends
Participate in all swim fittings, prototypes, sales samples & PPS
Monitor fabric, block, and color/print development approvals in partnership with team
Comprehensive understanding of garment construction and fabrications
Ability to effectively communicate complex topics and concepts with teammates & suppliers
Exercise high level of professionalism, critical thinking and communication
Accustomed to working in a rapidly changing, high growth environment and ability to manage multiple priorities, demands and changes
Research and provide findings related to market analysis, product trends and competitors
Knowledge of customer needs and applicable market trends at key price-points
Awareness of internal rules & regulations that accompany the development and commercialization of products
Collaborate closely with key partners, merchandising, product development and sales
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Minimum of 4 years’ experience working in a Design position related to swim
A fashion/art, design or bachelor’s degree is preferable and appreciated
Extensive attention to detail related to design, development & quality is required
Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations
Speak effectively before groups of customers and organization employees
Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
PLM experience preferred
Sense of trend and development in the swim industry
Strong Adobe Illustrator skills & Photoshop ability
Strong presentational skills
Microsoft Excel skills
Willing to travel domestic and International
This is a full-time position working from our Costa Mesa location

Liberated Brands is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role in Costa Mesa, CA is $80,000 - $100,000. This position is hybrid and, as such, compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skill set, certifications, and specific work location.
