In the position of Lead, Strategic Subcontracts you will be responsible for the total supplier agreement lifecycle for a large and growing business unit within the Commercial Aviation Solutions business. Working with stakeholders to identify risk gaps, working with suppliers in the negotiation and management of supplier agreements, and working with management to establish and conquer strategic objectives – this position will play a pivotal role in the strategic posture of the supply chain organization.

    Essential Functions:

  • Leading and managing the Cradle-to-Grave Subcontract Management process supporting the Commercial Aviation Solutions business.

  • Leading the Pre-Award phase, from Strategy development to Term and Condition negotiations working hand-in-hand with various stakeholders within the business

  • Leading the execution phase of a subcontract: definitize & award the agreement, actively perform change and risk management, monitor the need for REI’s, and ensure the close-out subcontracts in a timely manner.

  • Managing various types of agreements across the UK, USA and internationally.

  • Analyzing and summarizing data to provide timely and accurate subcontract status to Management.

  • Applying ingenuity and innovation to develop solutions to complex agreement problems.

  • Collaborating with the internal stakeholders to better understand the business and gain ability to optimize agreements

  • Initiating risk mitigation strategies related to the performance and pricing of Long Term Strategic Agreements

  • Working independently with little to no in-person supervision.

  • Ability to travel in order to meet face-to-face with to negotiate agreements and engage with suppliers as a part of the Subcontract management process (<20%)

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 9 years of subcontracts/contracts/supply chain related experience, OR Graduate degree with a minimum of 7 years of subcontracts/contracts/supply chain related experience

    Preferred Skills:

  • Self-starter with a knack for working independently on complex tasks

  • Significant Experience Negotiating and Managing Supplier Agreements in support of Commercial Customers within the UK

  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a complex and fast paced organization

  • Strong business acumen and problem solving ability

  • Strong interpersonal and planning skills to lead change through influencing abilities.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • NCMA certification a plus
