Job Summary:
Responsible for successfully performing a broad range of Human Resources functions in an effective and professional manner. The position is responsible for providing day-to-day Human Resources support to hourly and exempt associates at the distribution center.
Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities
Maintains effective communication with all levels of the distribution center to ensure associates' productivity, morale, and performance.
Oversees daily Human Resources functions such as payroll, benefits administration, workers compensation, and associate attendance.
Handle Human Resources policy and procedure administration in compliance with federal, state, and local EEOC laws.
Provide clear, concise information regarding company policies and procedures, benefits, and payroll to new and current associates.
Investigate and resolve employee relations concerns. Provide counsel on associate relations issues including progressive discipline, terminations, harassment/discrimination investigations, and other policy-related issues.
Coordinates and collects relevant data related to investigation and government regulation.
Coordinates forum for open exchange of ideas including associate focus group meetings and associate committee meetings.
Responsible for driving building events including but not limited to recognition/reward programs, quarterly meetings, and open enrollment meetings.
Administrator for Workers Comp, FMLA, and ADA
Ensures compliance with all Federal and State Labor Laws and practices for the facility
Strong ability to tactful influence business decisions as it relates to Human Resources
BA/BS in Human Resources or related study PREFERRED
3-5 years prior Human Resources experience in a Distribution and Retail environment
SHRM-CP a plus
HR Manager DC and Store experience required
Union Avoidance experience required
Strong Leadership Skills
Must have in-depth knowledge of applicable laws and liability related to HR functions
Ability to meet deadlines with quality, a sense of urgency, and attention to detail a must
Must have effective and clear communication skills
Must demonstrate the ability to work well within a team environment, and successfully build relationships with associates of all levels
Must demonstrate the ability to be flexible and manage multiple tasks simultaneously within a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint required
