Job Description

Supervises and coordinates the staff and daily activities of staff in a laboratory. Ensures the validity and accuracy of test results. Coordinates staff, materials, and equipment needs.

Job Responsibility

  • Promotes Clinical Laboratory department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.

  • Leads the activities of assigned Clinical Laboratory team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.

  • Oversees timely filling of all laboratory requests.

  • Monitors supplies of reagents to ensure adequacy at all times.

  • Supervises Blood Bank staff, including training, discipline.

  • Authorizes overtime as needed to ensure efficient workflow and adequate coverage.

  • Responsible for ongoing evaluation of job performance.

  • Oversees timely filling of all transfusion requests.

  • Prepare blood or blood products for patient use and reports to the leadership on a timely basis related to technical and professional problems.

Job Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

  • Current License to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience and 0-2 years of leadership / management experience, required.

  • Experience in Cancer lab is preferred

The salary range for this position is $79,880-$136,340/year
