Family Services cares for individuals who are isolated, abandoned, or just need help developing the skills to live successfully. We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager who is responsible for the overall management of our Accounting Department. The Accounting Manager plays a key role in overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, grants receivable, payroll, and all manual journal entries while complying with agency confidentiality policies and assuring the confidentiality of agency accounting records. This position supervises and mentors billing, accounts payable, and payroll staff. Job duties also included developing and maintaining systems that ensure accuracy, timely processing, and confidentiality of financial information and reporting relating to job responsibilities; facilitating the allocation of shared costs to our various programs; being prepared to respond to announced and unannounced audits which includes providing immediate presentation of documents, reports and related supporting documentation/notes; presenting a professional and positive leadership influence within the Agency and Accounting team; and responding to the CFO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial reporting. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of a Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting with a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience and minimum of 1 year of professional supervisory experience. Preferred candidates will have their CMA and/or CPA with at least 2 years of experience in not-for-profit accounting. Required skills include the ability to assume authority constructively, coordinate and manage multiple tasks, and maintain self-motivation to be able to work independently. Other skills include being detail-oriented to effectively manage the accounting and budgeting systems, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
