This position will be within the Human Factors and System Management team, which supports the Project Management and Engineering Branch at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. This branch provides System Management and Project Management as one of its core competencies. The Human Health and Performance Contract (HHPC) team provides direct support to the ISS Program, and specifically to the System Managers for the Crew Health Care Systems (CHeCS) including Environmental Health, Health Maintenance, and Radiation. The candidate will work with ISS System Managers who are responsible and accountable for all aspects of the system hardware life cycle including requirements development, systems engineering, hardware and software development, verification, certification, integration, sustaining engineering, resupply and final system/vehicle closeout.Essential Duties and Responsibilities• Help provide the System Management Team support for the Environment Health System (EHS), Health Maintenance System (HMS), and Radiation System (Rad) including the System Manager Deputy, System Management Integrator and other technical support required to provide strategic and tactical planning support and issue management• Assist in facilitating and coordinating the System Problem Resolution Team (SPRT) and Manifesting Splinter, including but not limited to: technical support for agendas, action tracking, technical summaries• Assist in managing manifesting which includes, but not limited to, maintaining content in the CHeCS Manifest Tool, coordination of manifest input at manifest splinter meetings, and facilitating all manifest tasks in the ISS Program manifest database, MIDAS Prime• Update and maintain the System Management and Program Integration SharePoint website content associated with ISS Program Integration and CHeCS EHS, HMS and Radiation System Management• Provide technical content review and disposition of ISS Program Change Requests• Assist in maintaining the CHeCS Manifest Tool (CMT) including, but not limited to: manage access and permissions, maintain oversight of the tool, and provide limited software developer support for minor troubleshooting of the new tool• Assist in maintaining the HMS Inventory Tracking ToolEducation/ExperienceRequiredThe candidate must have a Bachelor's degree (biomedical, aerospace, or mechanical) and five years of experience in the field or in a closely-related area.DesiredThe candidate should possess knowledge of NASA JSC systems, especially HMS, EHS, Radiation, and familiarity with the Change Request (CR) process, reading drawings, and logistics. Previous experience in working directly with customers and coordinating numerous activities for an organization is desired.Skills/TrainingRequiredThe qualified applicant must be very detail-oriented and have excellent oral and written communication skills, including effective communication between external groups. The candidate must be able to handle a variety of work expectations, be a ‘go-getter’ and be able to work independently after initial training.DesiredCandidate should have the ability to effectively interact with customers at all levels, ability to multitask, be able to prioritize important tasks/activities, and coordinate meetings. Experience working with SharePoint or databases is also desired.Relocation assistance is available.
