Tompkins Community Bank Financial Analyst - Central New York in Ithaca, New York

Overview

Responsible for performing a variety of duties including analyzing past and present financial data of the organization, maintaining budgeting platforms, applying principles of finance, accounting and statistics. Expected to estimate future revenues and expenditures; identify performance strengths and weaknesses; and evaluate performance outcomes under various scenarios.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize and maintain integrity of various reporting systems to gather and report on financial results and projections.

  • Assist in budget and forecast processes for corporation including local markets, shared services, insurance and wealth.

  • Present Financial results, forecasts and budgets to leadership teams.

  • Analyze records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred to project future revenues and expenses.

  • Preparation of special studies, analyses, and recommendations in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, governmental requirements, statistical reports, and business forecasts.

  • Create and maintain detailed governance documentation that outlines roles and expectations, data and security policies and support procedures for Workday Adaptive Planning

  • Deploy new modules or features, make configuration changes or create, update or maintain reports to address business needs

  • Building basic and advanced custom reports as required in Workday, Tableau and other tools.

  • Excellent customer focus and the ability to understand customer needs and build relationships

  • Deliver training to all levels of Workday users

  • Utilize and maintain integrity of various reporting systems to gather and report on financial results and projections.

  • Aid organization with financial functions, such as assessing, auditing, planning, budgeting, forecasting, taxes, consolidation, cost control, and project control as needed.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

  • Three (3) years’ experience in financial accounting and related functions such as assessing, auditing, planning, budgeting, taxes, consolidation, cost control and project control preferred.

  • Experience with Workday/Adaptive Planning preferred.

  • Tableau Experience is highly preferred.

  • Specialized training in related field.

  • Experience and expertise in the use of Microsoft Excel to collect, analyze and organize data. Proficient in using Microsoft PowerPoint to present findings.

  • Ability to perform ratio and trend analysis and interpret results.

  • Ability to independently research, gathers, and analyzes data from multiple sources, including accounting records, public databases, and internal databases.

Pay Range

USD $74,500.00 - USD $83,000.00 /Yr.
