Position Specific Description

This position entails overseeing the assessment of land and property rights (including fee, leases, and easements) for solar. Territory of management spans across the state of Florida. Key responsibilities include conducting negotiations with landowners to secure all required property rights within strict timelines, thereby preventing project delays. Additionally, provides oversight/management of internal and external personnel to ensure the successful achievement of established objectives.

Other responsibilities include:

• Managing annual Capital budget / forecasting for area of responsibility.

• Conducting budget estimates, forecast and schedules for current and future solar projects.

• Maintaining ongoing relationships with landowners to ensure property maintenance after contracts are executed.

• Managing and providing bi-weekly updates on solar projects.

This position requires strong negotiation skills, ability to multi-task, form effective, relationships and work collaboratively within diverse skill sets are essential for this position. Candidate must also possess a comprehensive understanding of title, as well as the ability to read and interpret surveys and legal descriptions. Candidate must be self-reliant and have the capability to work independently.

Other Qualifications:

  • 15+ years’ experience in real estate acquisitions or related field required.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

Job Overview

This job is responsible for the evaluation and acquisition of land and land rights (fee, lease, and easement) for power plant, service center, substation, transmission, pipeline right of way and other company real estate assets. Employees in this job provide direction to internal personnel and external stakeholders in order to meet established objectives.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Conducts negotiations with land owners to obtain all necessary property rights are secured in sufficient time to prevent delay of projects

• Analyzes real estate processes and makes enhancements

• Develops alternative work methods to minimize or reduce costs

• Performs asset protection activities related to processing of subordinations, easement releases, enforcement against encroachments on company easements or owned properties

• Performs construction liaison activities with landowners for Transmission, Construction or other groups as required

• Grants easements over company properties or within company acquired easements to third parties

• Manages annual operating and maintenance budgets and capital budgets for specific projects

• Perform budget estimates, forecasts and schedules for current and future projects

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
