Director, Quality Assurance

POSITION SUMMARY:

Manage the Regional QA team and ensure all shipments meet PVH standard of quality, for all Brands in line with PVH Core values.

Build, develop and manage the QA team in region, from a QA product perspective and ensure that PVH goals and focus areas are implemented and followed in line with QA global initiatives, to drive better Quality and Efficiency in the supply chain.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Determining, negotiating and agreeing on in-house quality procedures, standards and specifications.

  • Assessing the brand’s requirements and support the Brand Technical, Supply/Sourcing, PD and field QA/QC team.

  • Assist and provide suggestions to any potential new quality standards requirements.

  • Investigating and setting standards for quality and health and safety.

  • Ensuring that manufacturing processes comply with standards at both national and international level.

  • Working with operating staff to establish procedures, standards, systems and procedures.

  • Monitoring supplier performance, KPIs and determining training and continuous improvement needs.

  • Acting as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance and quality of product and suppliers.

  • Directing objectives to maximize profitability.

  • Recording, analyzing and distributing statistical information which will support better decision making and improve Quality KPIs.

  • Working closely with the Country leaders to lead QA/QC team activities in country and proactively implement improvement plans to meet short, mid and long-term goal.

  • Coaching quality assurance teams to achieve objectives by Company, orienting, training, counseling, mentoring and communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.

  • Manage GMP audit execution to New and Exists Vendors/ Factories.

  • Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews working closely with Hub, Supply, Technical and Raw Materials leads; guiding Vendors/ Factories complete action plans; quality, and required standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits.

  • Preparing an annual budget; monitoring expenses; analyzing variances; initiating corrective

  • Maintains and improves product quality by factories; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs.

  • Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.

  • Updates job knowledge by studying trends in and developments in quality management

  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments and taking on new projects in alignment with PVH Supply AOP.

  • Develop stronger team to cope with business expansion.

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONTACTS

Internal Contacts: Leadership of Hubs/Countries, QA Leadership, Regional QA teams, merchandising teams, Sourcing offices, HR & on shore QA business counterparts

External Contacts: Vendors and factories, and any relevant training or product / 3rd party vendors

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Indirect: Senior QA Managers and QA Managers in country & QAQC & QAQC Inspectors

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Annual Divisional Budget, Travel Budget, HCs & manpower cost, etc

DECISION MAKING

• Own and make the final quality decision on any QI related issues

• Reach out and align on any commercial decisions with business partners

RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY

• Develop and maintain a best in class Quality team

• Auditing and process decisions based on Value add v NVA and PVH requirements and initiatives

ENVIRONMENT

• Able to work in a matrix environment with multiple supervisors

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education & Experience:

  • Over 15 years Quality, technical, Industrial Engineering or manufacturing experience.

  • Degree holder in Apparel or Engineering related qualification or Technical or manufacturing experience.

Skills:

  • Work with Hub, Supply/Sourcing, PD, RM to ensure highest product quality and execution.

  • Be able to work with PD and Designers where necessary to provide advice at pre-production stage to ensure product is fit for purpose.

  • Understand Process Improvement.

  • Strong information analyzing skills.

  • Strategic Planning of resources.

  • Able to dealing with Complexity / Ambiguity.

  • Fluency in English in read and write and have a general awareness of regional culture and language.
