Description

The EMEA Construction Program Team are a programmatic delivery team enabling a consistent approach to Data Center Capacity Delivery. You will work in a diverse and creative team solving fascinating problems constructing Amazon Data Centers. You will be part of fast-moving regional construction program team of professionals delivering data center capacity to support Amazon’s growth in the EMEA region.

Our Data Center construction team owns and drives the construction life cycle from constructability, proposal development, procurement strategies, bid analysis, award, to managing on site construction work, schedule management and commercial management. The position is based in London and could involves travel (up to 30% of the time) to other locations.

In this role you will be ultimately responsible for ensuring the organization adopts a consistent and scalable approach to project management processes, preconstruction services, schedule management, health & safety management, quality management, security management, and commercial management.

The program management team provide the centralized support to Construction Managers (CMs) project controls (time and cost), KPIs, goals management, metrics and reporting, administration tasks, systems, programs, process, SOPs, templates, trainings, headcount and resource management, rolling out of new tools and development and maintenance of dashboards.

Key job responsibilities

• Identifying gaps and creating processes to drive efficiencies and reduce level of efforts (LOEs) on repeating and overlapping works, eliminate non-value-add activities, removing blockers, and driving automation.

• Identifying gaps in global processes and creating processes, SOPs and templates that are suitable for EMEA local requirements to support Construction Managers and Generals Contractors.

• Maintain and forecast headcount & resourcing allocation across EMEA

• Coordinating the Construction program and initiatives at the global level, driving for training, adaption and implementation

• Track and monitor project risks across EMEA

• Drive project lesson learned across Construction and develop and track best practices for global consistency

• Gather data across clusters to support reporting, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality, health & Safety and risk management, reporting and metric development/tracking

• Review & Monitor Inspection, Observations & Incidents in Procore for EMEA wide projects and analysis in order to share data (leading and lagging indicators) for trends, risks/opportunities and reports to CM leadership.

• Connect and work with CM managers to prioritize H&S in planning and execution in all phases of CM projects and ensure adequate training is provided to CMs and GCs through the H&S Program team.

• Create and run training and on boarding programs on key knowledge and tools;

• Develop and monitor business impactful goals, build dashboard to show metrics for KPI reporting

• Drive audits and compliance to policies and use of tools (Procore, AWS Rev etc.)

• Self-Initiate project ideas and track to successful implementation

• Run continuous improvement projects spanning multiple teams

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or a related technical discipline or 10+ years of relevant experience.

• 5+ years working in construction industry managing large scale complex projects.

• 5+ years of technical program management experience working directly with engineering teams experience.

• 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, health & safety along with risk and critical path management experience.

• Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and programs and developing and coordinating training in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in mission critical facilities (design, pre-construction, scheduling, construction and commissioning), or equivalent.

• Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and IOSH or equivalent

• Experience analyzing structured and unstructured data

• Experience developing Tableau dashboards and Tableau Server

• Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

• Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and effectively influence across cross functional teams

• Strong analytical skills; ability to mine and use data and metrics to back up assumptions and planning

• Experience developing and understanding project schedule data
