SUMMARY :

To lead and manage the Technical Support, Ongoing Maintenance and Technology for Post Production Facliity environments that service Warner Bros. International TV Production UK and it’s operating companies as well as Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe.

To develop, implement and manage ‘Post Production Standards’ across ITVP EMEA & APAC and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe, levergaing enterprise class creative technologies and maximizing efficiencies whilst fulfilling WBD security initiatives.

To help manage, support and integrate commonly used Production Applications, Services, Workflows & Post Production/VFX Services that support content production, storytelling, franchise and brand efforts across WBD Feature Film, TV & Animation Productions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Day to Day Technical Support of all hardware, software and infrastructure for Post Production Facilities across two UK sites. Including management of escalation to vendors, manufacturers and third part support partners to ensure a resolution is achieved.

  • Day to Day Management of Post Technical Support Engineers and escalation path for engineering support.

  • Design and build workflows and best practises from media acquisition through to ingest, edit and archive.

  • Design, build, support and maintain Teradici PCoIP and HP Anywhere remote editing platforms.

  • Support and advise other WBD businesses on Editorial Technologies, pooling knowledge and leveraging national, european and global deals with manufacturers and vendors.

  • Create detailed and professional documentation for technologies and user guides for in-house teams when required.

  • Work to achieve security compliance across production applications & services for Production Technology services, solutions and integrations.

  • Research new and emerging technologies and evaluate their benefits and suitability within workflows.

  • Procure new equipment and negotiate support contracts from resellers and suppliers.

  • Liaise with production teams advising on technology needs, concerns or questions.

  • Work with local Tech Leads in each EMEA & APAC territory to ensure content security and WBD best practice is achieved.

  • Work with local Tech Leads in each EMEA & APAC territory on mahor projects, relocations and solution rollouts.

  • Leverage and Interface with WMTO Partners & External Vendors (Onboarding, Intake, Application Reviews etc).

  • Account Administration & Management for WBD Production Applications.

  • Work with key support partners to manage support and upgrades to the Post Estate, covering Avid Media Composer licensing and support, StorageDNA, Spectra Logic LTO, Vidchecker, Baselight, ContentAgent, Avid NEXIS, Nearline storage including: Infortrend, Synology, QNAP.

  • Work with local and Corporate IT – pre-empting network/firewall requirements in a timely manner and reacting swiftly to escalate network and connectivity related issues.

  • Attend industry events/presentations/webinars and feed back to stakeholders

KEY SKILLS:

  • Degree in technology-based subject

  • Extensive experience in Post Production / Broadcast Engineering roles.

  • Avid Specific Qualifications:

  • Avid Media Composer ACSR

  • Avid Pro Tools ACSR

  • Avid NEXIS ACSR

  • In depth knowledge of all technologies making up Post Production and Broadcast environments:

  • Baseband video

  • File-based workflows and file standards & codecs

  • Audio and Video signal flows

  • Software – NLE, DAW, MAM etc – Especially Avid Media Composer

  • Hardware – High-End Workstations, Servers, Nearline & Online Storage, LTO, Archive Systems.

  • Cloud Systems and SaaS

  • IP networking and Network topologies.

  • Remote editing and viewing platforms and tools – especially PCoIP & Leostream.

  • Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of HDR standards and workflows.

  • Experience supporting Devinci Resolve finishing post workflows

  • Knowledge of virtualised environments for editorial including private and public cloud deployment.
