Amazon Senior Financial Analyst, Global Engineering Services Finance - EMEA in Luxembourg, Luxembourg

The Global Engineering Services (GES) Finance team seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to play a key role in supporting our engineering team to build out the Amazon Stores network across Europe and MENA.

It's an exciting role for someone who wants to make an impact, quickly. Once onboarded, the initial focus of the role will be to report the monthly opex performance and to work with your peers to develop performance dashboards for our business partners

Opportunities abound for impactful analysis, process improvement, and scope expansion. The person will be part of the team responsible for both long- and short-term financial planning, as well as controllership of monthly financial reporting, and providing analytical support for Senior Business Management.

The finance team works hand in hand with the business teams, other Global Finance teams, and financial system teams to automate where possible so the ideal candidate will work well with cross functional teams.

As the owner of the Opex for some cost centres in the team, you will gain an holistic understanding of the entire GES organization through strong exposure to all aspects of the construction project lifecycle,. Key job responsibilities

• Gather analytical insights and develop financial frameworks to help grow profitability and expand our reach in a global environment.

• Participate in the core financial processes for the organization including Annual Operating Plans, 3 year Strategic Plan, and Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews.

• Complete cost/benefit analyses and communicating key drivers/inputs to support business decisions.

• Perform financial reporting, deep project analyses, and financial modelling.

• Oversee financial reporting for your business area. Understand input drivers and validate integrity of the reporting to influence strategic decision-making and planning.

• Educate business partners on financial and non-financial trade-offs.

A day in the life

This role will allow you to working closely with senior stakeholders including EMEA Engineering Services leaders, other Global Finance teams, and Financial system teams to automate where possible. - Opex Planning: work with our business partners on financial planning (Headcount resource planning strategies, support the analysis behind the role of self-build vs 3rd party software,) - Opex Reporting: KPI tracking - move to more efficient ways to track, partner with the business to improve the metrics - Capex reviews: Dive deep into the capex spend reviews post site launch with the Capex Governance teams

GES Finance' mission is to support our business partners to make Opex and Capex decisions by providing suitable challenge - providing insights and performance metric transparency.

Basic Qualifications

  • A degree

  • Relevant experience in a finance role leading a project or programme and partnering with multiple stakeholders within a business

  • Relevant experience working with Excel, reporting tools and large-scale data mining tools, such as Power BI, Python, SQL, or Tableau

  • Relevant experience in financial modelling

Preferred Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, Mathematics, or Economics

  • Experience troubleshooting problems and offering solutions to streamline complex challenges

  • Experience of working in a large team or fast-paced, corporate environment

  • Experience of making strategic business decisions and manage internal relationships
