AutoZone, Inc. Sr. Financial Analyst in Monterrey NL, Mexico

Position Purpose

The main responsabilities of this position are to secure that all the information regardindg the vendor funding charge are registered and invoiced in a monthly basis. This involves multiple activities to ensure that every accrual that the merch team create it has a invoice to deduct. Also involves direct contact with the vendors, areas and third party associates to resolve any theme related to the charges from the merch team, and carry out reconciliations of accounting accounts for commercial agreements. (Vendor Funding).

Primary Accountabilities

  • Prepare and analyze the Vendor Funding forecast for each period close. Verify compliance and proper alignment of the related areas to operating plan Strategies and tactics, including timely communication of deviations.

  • Period close activities such as Accounting Entries, Financial Statement Analysis, explain differences vs Plan and Forecast.

  • Administer and control financial activities generated by Merchandising operations (Vendor Funding, reimburments, penalties, recoveries). Ensures that processes and registers comply with MEXGAAP/USGAAP accounting and internal audit policies and ensure billings and invoices were processed correctly. Provide financial and accounting advice on potential new operating process to ensure financial viability, adequate recording, tracking and visibility.

  • Prepare reconciliations related to the Contractual Vendor Funding accounts.

  • Prepare analysis reports for different areas (Defective, Vendor Funding Category Contribution, Logistics Program).

  • Provide and request support to functional areas (Merchandasing, FPA, Supply Chain, Inventories, Operations, etc).

  • Education & Experience

Level of Formal Education: A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent.

Area of Study: Accounting, Finance, Economics or Financial Systems

Years of Experience: Three to five years.

Type of Experience: Financial analysis, corporate finance and planning

Special Certifications or Technical Skills: Strong analytical midnset; excellent communication/presentation skills; well versed in financia analysis; advanced Excel and Access; very well organized and capable to work in an international/multicultural environment; ability to develop decision making skills.

Other/Preferred: English desirable, strong work ethics, flexibility/adaptability. SQL queries and data warehouse knowledge are an advantage.
