Description and Requirements

Lenovo is looking for an experienced Senior Paralegal, Commercial Litigation to join our litigation team in either Morrisville, North Carolina or Chicago, Illinois.

Job Overview

This position will assist the in-house litigation team in many aspects of legal matters and cases including performing legal research, organizing documents, assisting with and preparing basic pleadings, responding to discovery requests and production of documents, and working with witnesses to gather relevant information and documents for case preparation.

Job Duties

  • Interfaces with outside counsel, foreign and domestic business units, and other sources to collect, compile, and summarize legal, factual, and technical documents and files, including documents received from witnesses and business units for use in legal matters by our outside counsel or other sources and vice versa.

  • Tracks and monitors active cases as needed. Manages calendars, docket and tickler systems, and assists in meeting deadlines.

  • Drafts and/or proofreads legal documents including, but not limited to, basic correspondence, declarations, subpoena responses and other discovery-related materials.

  • Assists in the identification of relevant subject matter experts within the company and the collection of information and documents from such individuals for use in case matters and responding to discovery requests.

  • Manages and works with outside vendors such as e-billing and matter management software vendors.

  • Prepares for participates in witness meetings, collecting relevant information from such meetings.

  • Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities and projects, as needed by the organization.

Job Requirements:

  • Associate degree (in paralegal studies preferred) or a paralegal certification.

  • At least 6 years of complex commercial litigation experience in a law firm or in-house setting.

  • Advanced technical skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, as well as willing to learn and become proficient with internal case management and e-billing systems like Legal Tracker and TyMetrix.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with e-billing systems like Legal Tracker and TyMetrix.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Self-starter and team player.

  • Collaborative style with colleagues and outside counsel.

  • Superb attention to detail, as well as organizational, planning and multi-tasking skills, particularly with case files/document management to keep and maintain current dockets and tracking systems for internal reporting purposes.

  • Follow-through with minimal supervision and direction are critical to be successful in this role.

  • Must have experience handling caseload of fast-paced/multi-party litigation matters.

Location:

Morrisville, NC or Chicago, IL preferred, but US remote may also be considered.

The base salary budgeted range for this position is $76.5 - 104K. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission. Lenovo’s various benefits can be found on www.lenovobenefits.com .
