GE Healthcare PhD Student, Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Munich, Germany

Job Description Summary

As an early-stage researcher, you will be developing new acquisition and processing techniques and algorithms for magnetic resonance imaging. In particular, this includes new advanced technologies for neuro MRI aiming for an earlier diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases. You will be expected to work independently and also within a larger team to innovate and push the technical envelope in all aspects of magnetic resonance imaging. You will have access to state-of-the-art 3.0T whole body MR scanners and all required computer hardware.

Job Description

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Combine knowledge of MR physics, computer science, AI, mathematics, and clinical needs to design and develop new features for MR data acquisition, reconstruction and/or advanced data science to be used in neuro MRI.

  • Evaluate and extend new concepts.

  • Work closely with clinical collaborators to evaluate and improve new features within an EU funded project.

  • Contribute to MR scientific societies through publication and presentation of research output.

Requirements

  • MSc in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Medical Physics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent

  • Early experience in programming in C, Tensorflow or MATLAB

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Can-do attitude, open and creative

  • Team-work & commitment

  • Fluency in English

  • Basic German language skills

Desired characteristics

  • Experience in the field of magnetic resonance/medical imaging.

  • Pulse sequence programming expertise or experience in machine-/deep-learning or other AI technologies.

  • Experience with research collaborations.

  • Previous GE MRI experience.
