Job Summary

The Equity Research Analyst will be a member of the US Equity Growth team working as a generalist research analyst supporting two senior Growth Portfolio Managers. Sector experience preferred includes business services, technology, consumer tech. and/or industrials.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support two senior PMs working on portfolio analytics and screens, special projects including sector and industry analyses and ad hoc company specific analyses. Analyst should have the intellectual curiosity and analytical capabilities to expand across sectors.

  • Strong team player and ability to collaborate with multiple portfolio managers and research analysts on the growth team.

  • Build an understanding of the portfolio holdings and investment universe to help monitor existing positions and identify new ideas.

  • Filter through a broad coverage universe to identify high-potential stocks consistent with the high-quality growth investment philosophy.

  • Identify and research important secular growth themes and companies exposed that are poised to gain market share and build an enduring franchise.

  • Perform fundamental analysis of a company's business and financial position to assess the quality of the franchise, the sustainability of its competitive advantage and its growth potential.

  • Build and maintain financial models to estimate future earnings and cash flow potential.

  • Initiate and maintain written and verbal communications with Portfolio Managers focusing on overall portfolio holdings, positioning and company specific developments relative to the investment theses.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • At least 5 years buyside experience preferred

  • Passion for the stock market generally and investing in growth stocks specifically

  • Superior analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task

  • Strong work ethic with a drive to outperform and a commitment to continuous improvement

  • Intellectual curiosity with a desire to learn from multiple disciplines

  • Strong interpersonal skills to work constructively and successfully with other team members

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent financial modeling and equity valuation skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • CFA preferred
