About the role

As a Finance Business Partner , you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and financial performance across our growing portfolio of restaurants. As strategic advisors to the Head of Restaurant Operations, you will leverage your expertise in operational finance to identify opportunities for improvement, optimize costs, and maximize profitability, ensuring that every decision is aligned with our commitment to delivering exceptional experiences and sustainable growth.

  • Strategic Business Partner: Serve as a key financial advisor and strategic partner to the Head of Restaurant Operations, providing insights and analysis to drive operational efficiency, improve profitability, and support strategic decision-making.

  • Operational Finance Expertise: Leverage a strong background in strategic and operational finance to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization, utilizing financial data to drive operational excellence and enhance business performance.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively across departments to align financial strategies with operational objectives , fostering effective communication and synergy between finance, operations, and other functional areas.

  • Ownership of Restaurant P&Ls: Take ownership of restaurant Profit and Loss (P&L) statements and associated Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in partnership with the Head of Restaurant Operations, providing insights into business-line profitability, including analysis of COGS, labor, rent, and capital expenditures.

  • Insightful Analysis: Drive insightful analysis of restaurant financial performance, identifying trends, opportunities, and risks to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.

  • Collaboration with FP&A Team: Work closely with the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team to provide input and insights for the forecasting and budgeting process, ensuring alignment between operational plans and overall corporate financial objectives .

  • Operational Finance Background: Bring a strong background in operational finance, particularly in the 4-Wall Restaurant/Quick-Service Restaurant (QSR) industry, to the role, leveraging industry-specific knowledge and expertise to drive financial performance and operational efficiency .

The ideal candidate for the Director of Finance Business Partner position at Wonder is a strategic advisor with a proven track record in operational finance within the restaurant or QSR industry. They should possess strong analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to collaborate effectively cross-functionally, driving insights to optimize costs, improve profitability, and support the achievement of business objective s .

  • E xperience in strategic and operational finance roles, with a focus on the restaurant or QSR industry.

  • Proven track record of identifying and implementing operational process improvements using financial analysis and insights.

  • Strong understanding of restaurant P&L management and associated KPIs, with the ability to drive profitability and efficiency improvements.

  • Experience working cross-functionally and collaborating with teams across different departments.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.

  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis, with advanced Excel skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization .

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary package including equity and 401K. Additionally, we provide multiple medical, dental, and vision plans to meet all of our employees' needs as well as many benefits and perks that are not listed. 

Base Salary: $210,000
