JPMorgan Chase Environmental, Social and Governance External Reporting Associate in New York, New York

As the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) landscape evolves and becomes increasingly important to the firm, our business activities, and external stakeholders (clients, shareholders, regulators), the firm has established a Firm wide ESG Reporting & Controller Team to manage end to end controls, consistency, and accountability for Environment, Social and Governance internal and external reporting processes across the firm.

As an Associate on the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Reporting and Controller Team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the production of our Firm wide ESG Report and Climate Report. Your work will span across diverse areas such as finance, risk, legal, human resources, and marketing. You will be a vital part of our team, helping us to ensure the success of our businesses, clients, customers, and employees.

Job responsibilities:

  • Provide overall business management support to the reporting process for Firm wide ESG and Climate Reports, including project management, timeline management, communication and coordination with stakeholders (including Legal, Brand/Marketing/Communications, report designers, report contributors from across the Firm, etc.)

  • Coordinate with stakeholders on reporting strategy and content with a focus on social impact

  • Partner with ESG Controllers to ensure that ESG data is properly collected, documented, stored, and reported upon and that document retention practices comply with the Firm's policies

  • Oversee the use of various software tools for document access, approval, review and editing, e.g., Workiva, Teams, internal attestation program (ASAP) etc.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance reporting processes for the Firm's ESG Reporting and Disclosures

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in project management, business management, or other detail oriented roles

  • Ability to excel in a high-performance and professional environment, while managing multiple projects / deliverables under tight deadlines and being flexible / adaptable to changing priorities

  • Ability to successfully operate in a hybrid 3-day per week in office work environment, including the ability to work effectively across diverse functions, locations and businesses

  • High competency in Microsoft suite of applications (PowerPoint, Excel) and other program management toolsets

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Passion for and understanding of ESG issues and trends, as well as industry best practices and frameworks relating to sustainability and ESG reporting

  • Experience with report production in Workiva (Wdesk)

Soft skills

  • Strong organizational skills, including strong attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with others across the Firm

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Candidates must be able to physically work in our Metro New York or Wilmington, DE office 3 days a week and remotely from home 2 days per week. The specific schedule will be determined and communicated by direct management.
