Position Overview

As Standards and Knowledge Group (SKG) Lead you will focus on our Kiewit Technology Standards Board (KTSB), you will also oversee the planning, updating, and monitoring of all standards-related materials. You will combine knowledge management expertise with technical writing skills to ensure our standards reflect the current state and are clearly communicated to stakeholders. This position will report to the Director, Data Privacy and DLP.

Location

This position will be in our Omaha, NE office. The work schedule is onsite Monday-Thursday with optional Flexible Friday's.

Responsibilities

Planning and Coordination

•Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Technology Group standards, policies, and procedures.

•Create strategic plans for developing and revising standards and manage timelines, resources, and stakeholder inputs.

•Coordinate with various department heads, subject matter experts, and external stakeholders to gather insights and ensure all perspectives are considered in the standard development process.

•Analyze industry trends to anticipate standard changes and recommend them to the Standards Board.

Content Development and Management

•Update and maintain the knowledge base, combining traditional documentation with digital solutions.

•Organize and maintain standards documentation for stakeholders to easily access and retrieve.

•Ensure consistency and accuracy in all standards documents and related materials.

•Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop clear and concise technical content.

•Validate and verify information for accuracy and relevance in the standards documentation.

Monitoring and Improvement

•Monitor and improve the use and effectiveness of standards within the organization.

•Track and report the status of standards development projects to the KTSB and stakeholders.

•Continuously evaluate processes to maintain standards and introduce new technologies and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

•Manage standards queries and information flow between interested parties.

Communication and Outreach

•Facilitate communication between the KTSB, department heads, and other relevant parties to ensure correct understanding and implementation of all standards.

•Develop training and educational materials to assist in adopting standards across the organization.

•Prepare and present reports and presentations on standards, processes, and any necessary internal or external communications.

Technical Writing and Editing

•Craft technical documentation that is clear, precise, and accessible to various audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.

•Edit and proofread standards documentation to ensure high quality and coherence with the organization’s tone and style guidelines.

•Improve technical writing in the organization by adopting best practices and providing feedback to other contributors.

Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree in Knowledge Management, Library Sciences, Information Management, or related field.

•3-5 years of experience in knowledge management or technical writing, preferably in a standards-setting or regulatory environment.

•Proven ability to plan and manage projects with multiple contributors and stakeholders.

•Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for clear and effective technical writing.

•Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.

•Proficient with technology, including content management systems and database software.
