AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Key job responsibilities

The Business Development Manager works with Australian Mining, Energy & Resource customers, helping to create and develop compelling Go-To-Market plans for the Energy & Resources segments. Energy and Resources is a broad assignment covering mining, the oil & gas, and resources sectors across their respective value chains.

You will help to identify key business opportunities, enable key customers by finding strategic partners, assemble cross-functional engagement teams and drive key relationships (business and technical) across industries. You will enable AWS sales teams to more effectively drive their day-to-day interactions with key customers, supporting creation of significant new opportunity pipelines.

Working closely with internal teams including AWS Solutions Architects, Professional Services, Product & Services teams, you will assist in developing and promoting cloud best-practices and help evolve AWS offerings for more rapid enterprise adoption.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience structuring and negotiating complex agreements and leading cross-functional groups to orchestrate and successfully complete deals

  • Experience in developing, negotiating and executing business agreements

  • Deep experience and understanding of the mining and energy sectors in Australia

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience influencing multiple stakeholders and leading cross functional teams across geographies and business units

  • Experience working with technical and product stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize features, and influence product roadmaps
