The Solution Development Manager is responsible for developing customer-specific solutions/projects employing Daikin Applied's products, systems, and services to help solve complex data center industry and customer application challenges, create new solution opportunities for our customers. Our Solution Development work includes engaging directly with customers, system engineers, and select sales representatives. You will be responsible to support the creation of design, solution technical content related to HVAC systems, such as white papers, reference architectures, design guidance, and technical solution presentations. This key individual must be able to establish customer interest in Daikin Applied's solutions as well as guide and influence the client's design and specification process. A Day in the Life: Engage directly with customers, specifying engineers, and sales representatives to collaboratively develop customer-specific data center solutions employing Daikin Applied solution content with intent to establish Daikin content as the basis of design, an approved/accepted or preferred solution. Leverage insights from multiple customer engagements to develop generalized solutions and promote these directly to customers, specifying engineers, and select sales representatives. Leverage insights from multiple customer engagements to provide guidance to product, solution, systems, and controls development teams, including identifying and advocating for opportune differentiating solutions, features, capabilities. Represent Daikin Applied via professional associations in the data center industry including ASHRAE, others. Establish and promote Daikin as technology leader, environmentally responsible solution provider (product design, manufacturing, delivered solution). Develop expertise on the features, benefits, technical performance, and design guidance for Daikin Applied's products and deliver systems guidance leveraging those strengths marketed to owner/operator customers and specifying engineers. Lead, co-lead internal efforts to address HVAC Systems needs by working with solutions leaders to prioritize solutions in their roadmaps and promote new solutions, and by leading project workstreams as required. Produce and deliver routine informational presentations, communicate technical solutions knowledge to customers through customer visits, webinars, lunch and learns, marketing communications, white papers, articles, direct support, etc., to educate customers on Daikin solutions. Liaise with Equipment Sales Team as well as customers to assist in expanding Applied Equipment offering/solutions that meet the evolving needs of the market. Produce and maintain market and competitor intelligence regarding HVAC solutions offering. Document and report market technological changes affecting Daikin Applied's solutions or services. Lead, develop, assist in the creation of application guides, other technical collateral enabling specifying engineers to design efficient, effective systems employing Dakin solutions. Follow general directions provided by data center vertical leader. Up to 30% travel within the US and Canada; occasional international travel. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (Engin ering or related field is preferred). 15+ Years of Technical Solution Development and or System Design in the HVAC Industry. Ability to travel up to 30%. Preferred Knowledge and Skills: Master's degree in engineering or technology. System design/solution, technical modeling and/or system design/layout.
