Microsoft Corporation Technical Product Manager in Redmond, Washington

At GenAI, within Microsoft’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) organization, we’re dedicated to advancing AI technology. Our work spans from developing innovative AI models to building the necessary infrastructure and tools for their customization and adaptation. We are looking for an experienced Technical Product Manager to lead our multi-modal (MM) efforts. You will be responsible for developing and driving execution of our MM roadmap. You will partner closely with the research teams to bring the latest advances in science into a set of MM models and drive end-to-end delivery of those models. You will help identify and prioritize key model capabilities based on customer needs, manage model development and shipping timelines, drive go-to-market (GTM), track utilization and customer feedback, and manage customer and partner engagement.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience working with AI technology and products, especially in computer vision. You have hands-on experience either building computer vision models or shipping vision-based products. You have demonstrated ability to thrive in matrixed organizations, collaborating with a broad range of teams. You have a track record of product management within technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the science team to develop a strategy to guide our multi-modal (MM) model development efforts, across MM understanding and generation.

  • Bring together research plans, customer signal and industry trends into a roadmap with clear development milestones tied to business outcomes and success metrics.

  • Manage the planning and model development process for the GenAI multi-modal team.

  • Own and prioritize the backlog of model requirements based on internal product team and external customer needs.

  • Be the voice of the customer and create a solid feedback loop between internal/external customers and model development.

  • Drive GTM for MM models, including seamless integration with Azure AI and excellent technical and non-technical documentation to showcase model capabilities and enable customers to build with these models.

  • Manage collaborations across the many Microsoft teams working in this space.

  • Stay up to date with the latest research and advancements in the field of computer vision.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree computer science or related engineering fieldAND 8+ years experience in Product Management, Technical Program Management, Software Engineering, or Data Science

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of working in computer vision or related field

Preferred:

  • Thorough knowledge of computer vision techniques and applications. Experience developing and/or productizing cutting-edge computer vision techniques.

  • Demonstrated cross-discipline and cross-group collaboration with ability to interact with diverse technical and non-technical groups, across organizational levels.

  • Ability to handle high ambiguity, excellent problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of execution/delivery.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (e.g., strategy and requirement docs; presenting to leadership, partners, and customers).

  • Passionate about the Computer Vision (CV) space; constantly learning about new developments and understanding the competitive landscape.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
