PMs are responsible for leading the definition and development from concept to prototype to implementation for technologies in Surface products. He/She will work with internal / external partner teams, product management, architects, development, quality assurance, and user experience teams to align objectives, create functional specifications, implement a plan, and ultimately deliver a high-quality product. He/She will be accountable for the relationship with development partners as the main point of contact for features and deliverable plans.

As a Technical Program Manager you will be responsible for leading the definition and development from concept to prototype to implementation for technologies in Surface products. You will be accountable for the relationship with development partners as the main point of contact for features and deliverable plans.

Responsibilities

  • You will work with Hardware and Software Engineering to design technical solutions. You’ll also identify risks and propose data-based mitigations.

  • You’ll define success criteria as you collaborate with others to implement features for cross-functional projects. You’ll coordinate and ensure alignment across teams.

  • Review and provide feedback for functional requirements that enable product engineering to execute.

  • Drive the execution and delivery of messages, proposals and directions between Microsoft and partners.

  • Anticipate risks; assess, mitigate, and manage accordingly.Organize and present program reviews/status to Redmond team.

  • Develop and protect intellectual property.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.

  • Demonstrated engineering background with a focus on hardware design, hardware partner development and shipping products.

  • Experience with one or more of the following: System integration, PC architecture, CPU’s and memory technologies, Mechanical design of consumer products, Touch and displays.

  • Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to fill gaps

Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
