Robert Half Litigation Paralegal in San Francisco, California

Description

As a Litigation Paralegal in this contract role, you will play a vital role in supporting attorneys throughout all stages of litigation. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of high-profile cases, contributing your expertise in legal research, document management, and trial preparation. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with exceptional organizational skills and a strong understanding of litigation procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with attorneys to prepare for all aspects of litigation, from case inception to resolution.

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using various resources to support case strategy and legal arguments.

  • Assist in drafting and editing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests/responses.

  • Manage the organization, indexing, and summarization of documents for discovery purposes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and expert witnesses, to facilitate case progression.

  • Support trial preparation efforts by assembling trial exhibits, preparing witness binders, and assisting with the development of trial presentations.

  • Maintain case files, databases, and electronic document management systems to ensure efficient retrieval and storage of case-related information.

  • Provide administrative support to attorneys, including calendar management, scheduling, and deadline tracking.

  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy in work product.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program.

  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm setting.

  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.

  • Strong understanding of federal and state court rules and procedures.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and litigation support software.

  • Flexibility to work in-person up to 5 days per week.
