Jostens Graphic Designer Manager in Santiago, Dominican Republic

Job Title: Graphic Designer Manager

Responsibilities: Lead, coordinate and develop all the graphic initiatives of SPI, guaranteeing the timely distribution of general orders and proofs for production with the aim of contributing to the satisfaction of our clients and optimizing art for the production process. At the same time, direct the design and manufacturing services staff in achieving the organizational objectives. Provides help and assist in all the activities related to the department.

  • Maintain the KPIs within the control limits established by the organization, guaranteeing the expected results.

  • Develop initiatives that improve job execution times with the aim of generating a competitive advantage for our products.

  • Anticipate future needs for staff and technical resources in order to optimize processes.

  • Assist in the development of new products, as well as work hand in hand in the development of new clients and their graphic lines to contribute to the growth of the business with them.

  • Design and sustain the correct flow of orders and requirements in order to optimize processes.

  • Ensure that the designs maintain the identity and quality while being within the established technical and aesthetic parameters.

  • Provide continuous support to internal clients within the conglomerate of companies, guaranteeing that their particular needs are expedited.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES – In any job with supervisory responsibilities, the following are an explicit part of the incumbent’s responsibilities and essential functions:

  • Participate in decisions related to the selection, promotion, transfer, pay and discipline of assigned personnel.

  • Clearly communicate job duties and responsibilities to enable individuals to proceed with certainty in the performance of their positions.

  • Monitor the work performance of assigned personnel on a continual basis; conduct effective performance reviews; take corrective action whenever necessary and, where necessary, work with HR Generalists to establish performance improvement plans.

  • Support the development of assigned personnel’s skills and abilities and demonstrate by personal example the desired standards of conduct (Jostens values) and work performance.

  • Identify and resolve skill gaps and succession issues.

  • Administer Company policies with regard to discipline, absenteeism, etc., in a fair and equitable manner, and fully document all incidents and actions taken.

  • Involve assigned HR Generalist on compliance issues such as pay equity, equal opportunity in hiring and promotions, and proper procedures for hiring, terminations, lay-offs, etc.

Required:

  • Industrial Engineer or Bachelor of Business Administration

  • Advanced English

  • Forecasting skills

  • Skills to run multiple projects at the same time

  • Graphic Package: Corel, Illustrator, Photoshop: very good.

  • Office Pack: Very good domain

  • Experience in manufacturing or operating environments

Preferred:

  • Master in Operations or Business

  • Knowledge in graphic design.

  • Experience working in international corporations.
