The Associate Director of Instructor Development and Course Production manages a team of instructional design professionals and a team of course producers who build and assure quality in online and hybrid courses. The individual in this role is responsible for providing robust support and training for all instructors who work with UW’s Continuum College and maintaining quality across all Continuum Courses through regular quality assurance work.

Responsibilities Team Management

  • Hire, train, develop, and manage 6-10 professional staff members

  • Plan, assign, load-balance, and review work of staff

  • Set strategic priorities for the team in consultation with other Learning Experience directors

  • Set and maintain expectations for quality assurance across all courses managed by UW’s Continuum College

  • Establish and refine effective and efficient processes for day-to-day operationsProcess and System Leadership

  • Own the instructor resources site and online scheduling system

  • Lead accessibility remediation efforts in existing courses

  • Collaborate closely with the Learning Experience Design team in developing materials for course development

  • Review and interpret course evaluation data, learning outcomes data, and other available data sources to develop training or other development opportunities

  • Continuously refine developer preparation and instructor preparation courses in response to changing technologies and teaching approachesCollaborate in cross-function teams or other Continuum College work Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, communication, or related field

  • Teaching experience

  • 2-3 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse faculty, students, and staff

  • Demonstrated success developing collegial and inclusive working environments
