Google Senior Director, Product Management, ML Data in Sunnyvale, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience in Data or Machine Learning, including 10 years of experience as a Product Management leader.

  • Experience with ML infrastructure, metrics, and analytics.

  • Experience developing infrastructure or solutions within cross-functional engineering environments.

  • Experience with technical innovation in machine learning or related fields.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or other relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience in Generative AI and LLMs.

  • Experience with ideation and innovation of technology at scale within large, complex, and cross-functional engineering environments.

  • Deep technical expertise in systems and software, with excellent leadership skills to influence technical leaders across the company.

In this role, you will head the product vision and strategy for the ML Data team, and collaborate effectively with engineering partners as well as many other stakeholders.

You will drive the democratization and delivery of safe and responsible access to high-quality AI data assets and infrastructure, enabling Google to deliver safe, innovative, and impactful AI-powered products. You will focus on streamlining the end-to-end AI data lifecycle, from acquisition, licensing, and generation through responsible AI governance and model launch. This includes creating new infrastructure, tools, and technologies for acquiring, processing, and storing data, and navigating the complexities of data compliance, privacy, data quality, and value. You'll collaborate with numerous product areas, including Cloud, Core, Google DeepMind, Google Research, gTech, Knowledge and Information, and Labs, and influence diverse teams and organizations.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $298,000-$428,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Develop a strategic vision for our products and technical roadmap, crafting the approach for Google’s internal AI Data Products, with a strong focus on Generative AI and LLM end-to-end evaluation.

  • Develop effective partnerships across Google’s product areas (e.g., GDM, Google Cloud, Research, Ads, YouTube, Devices and Services, etc.) deeply understanding their strategic data priorities and infrastructure requirements.

  • Implement cross-functional strategies to promote good AI data practices, with a special focus on governance and responsible AI.

  • Develop and drive the implementation of metrics that evaluate our effectiveness in the AI Data space.

  • Recruit and lead a product management team responsible for improving the fungibility and efficiency of our ML frameworks and related infrastructure.
