Naval Sea Systems Command SUPERVISORY TECHNICIAN in Virginia Beach, Virginia

Summary You will serve as a BRANCH MANAGER in the SURVEILLANCE RADAR DIVISION, SENSORS WEAPONS & LAUNCHERS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, located in Virginia Beach, VA. Branch Manager positions within NSWC PHD may capped at the GS-14, Step 6. Responsibilities You will motivate, train and work effectively with team members and accomplish the quality and quantity of work expected within set limits of cost and time. You will facilitate an understanding of management goals and command objectives. You will provide personnel management, program management, and allocate resources for radar programs. You will maintain close relationships with various NASEA and PEO Program and Project Offices, Contactors, Design Agents, Warfare Centers and other activities related to products and services provided for the radar team. You will demonstrate a thorough knowledge of radar systems required for combat and weapons system support. You will ensure that personnel, funding, schedule and performance conforms with program objectives and exceeds customer requirements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading or executing engineering projects to develop improvements or design new work processes in support of Surveillance Radar systems aboard ships. Education Additional Information This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement.
