Position Summary:
This position provides overall responsibility for the Design & Quality team that support our project execution regarding the development and validation of new products. This role will support the completion of design activity for a variety of projects ranging from innovation to product changes in order to contribute to top line business growth. Responsibility also includes providing management, support & communication of PLM platform to users and participating in customer/supplier design reviews. Strong communication skills in working with cross-functional teams through product design, function & quality roadblocks that impede execution progress are required. Proven ability to develop and manage a diverse & complex technical team while fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment is needed. The successful candidate will serve as an example for best-in-class technical leadership via driving collaborative engagement internally and externally for design scoping, development & prototyping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead the charge in driving innovative product development strategies, ensuring the company stays at the forefront of technological advancements
• Foster a culture of creativity and forward-thinking within the technical & quality team
• Oversee product design processes, ensuring excellence from concept to prototype
• Implement effective drawing management and control strategies to enhance collaboration and streamline the design lifecycle
• Take a proactive approach to Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEAs), ensuring potential risks are identified and mitigated during the design phase
• Drive a focus on continuous improvement in design processes and quality testing methodologies
• Leverage knowledge in molding to enhance precision and efficiency in product development
• Develop and nurture strong strategic relationships globally, fostering collaborations with partners, suppliers, and stakeholders
• Represent the company in a manner that strengthens its position as a leader in technology and innovation
• Foster effective communication within the team, ensuring a clear understanding of project goals and expectations
• Provide leadership and mentorship to promote professional growth and team cohesion
• Provide training and support to team members for optimal utilization of PLM system
• Periodic travel may be required
