Our Kitchen department is the heart and centre of the hotel and you could be joining this great team as an Executive Chef with us!

Your day to day

  • Direct daily kitchen activities, plan and assign work ensuring you always have the right staffing numbers

  • Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback, and create performance and development goals for colleagues

  • Complete forecasts, plans, and departmental production reports for management

  • Help prepare the hotel’s annual budget and the setting of departmental goals

  • Maintain costing and documentation of all dishes prepared and sold from the kitchen

What we need from you

  • Have proven experience as an Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef in a large scale hotel or upscale Food & Beverage environment.

  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities with a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.

  • Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and menu development.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Creativity and innovation in menu planning and presentation.

  • Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred.

  • Familiarity with New Zealand food safety regulations and local sourcing practices.

  • Remains calm, cool & courteous in a busy environment, able to take on challenges and adapt to change.

  • A positive can-do attitude with customer service at the heart of what you do.

  • A strong understanding of health & safety, well-being and promotes sustainability.
