Description and Requirements

Role Value Proposition:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Modernization Product Owner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, modernization strategies and product ownership.

Responsibility:

Delivery

  • As the Data Modernization Product Owner, you will play a pivotal role in leading the development and execution of data modernization initiatives within our organization.

  • You will be responsible for defining the vision, strategy, and roadmap for modernizing our data platforms and processes to simplify, improve efficiency, scalability, and agility.

  • Leveraging your expertise in data engineering, architecture, and product management, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovate data solutions that drive business value and competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vision and Strategy: Define and communicate the vision and strategy for data modernization initiatives, aligning them with the organization’s goals and objectives.

  • Roadmap Development: Developand maintain a product roadmap for data modernization, outlining key initiatives, milestones, and timelines for implementation.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaboratewith business stakeholders to understand their data needs and requirements and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Product Backlog Management: Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring that it reflects the most valuable and impactful features and is continuously refined based on feedback and changing requirements.

  • Requirements Definition: Work closely with data engineers, architects, and analysts to design and implement data modernization solutions including data migration integration and transformation projects.

  • Agile Development Leadership: Lead the agile development process, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews, to ensure timely delivery of high-quality features and enhancement.

  • Define and track key performance indicators(KPIs) to measure the success of data modernization initiatives and drive continuous improvement.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross functional teams including engineering, design, business to ensure successful execution of the product roadmap and alignment with organizational goals.

  • Quality Assurance: Partner with QA teams to define test cases and ensure that delivered features meet quality standards and user expectations.

  • User Feedback and iteration : Gather feedback from users and stakeholders, analyze data on product usage and performance and use insights to iterate and improve data modernization solutions continuously.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • 8+ years of managing data engineering development, solutions development, and delivery experience on building data warehouse/lake houses etc.

  • 5+ years of technical leadership

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.

  • Proven experience as product owner, product manager or similar role with a focus on data management and modernization.

  • Strong understanding of data management principles, including data modeling data quality and governance.

  • Experience with modern data platforms and technologies such as cloud data warehouses, data lake house and big data processing frameworks.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to details.

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus.

Exposure to below Technical Skills is big plus.

  • Azure SQL Synapse, Cosmos DB, Data Factory, Event Hub, Python, Spark Scala, Spark streaming.

Desirable Skills:

  • Eagerness to learn new technologies on the fly and ship to production.

  • Expert in technical program delivery across cross-functional / LOB teams

  • Expert in driving delivery through collaboration in highly complex, matrixed environment

  • Possesses strong leadership and negotiation skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to interact with senior leadership teams in IT and business.

Preferred Skills:

  • Insurance domain expertise
