Microsoft Corporation Senior Datacenter Integrated Planner & Scheduler in Washington D.C., District Of Columbia

Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a Senior Datacenter Integrated Planner & Scheduler within the U.S. Government Airgap team, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft’s dedicated online services supporting the U.S. Government.

Responsibilities

Planning

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of detailed project plans, including timelines, and resource requirements, for large-scale datacenter construction projects.

  • Oversee the planning and scheduling of large-scale datacenter construction projects, from inception to completion

  • Monitor project schedule risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential issues.

  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure project outcomes meet MSFT expectations.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders

  • Continuously improve scheduling processes and tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Project Management

  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that each project meets its objectives and is delivered on time.

  • Develop and implement project scheduling processes and tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Provide regular project updates to Regional Director, Program managers, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years construction, planning, and scheduling experience in one or more of the following large scale high-tech industries; data center, semi conductors, energy (i.e. oil & gas, solar).

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

  • Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years construction, planning, and scheduling experience in one or more of the following large scale high-tech industries; data center, semi conductors, energy (oil & gas, solar).

  • Understanding and experience working with project planning software, such as P6, MS Project, other schedule health analysis tools.

  • Ability to present data from a detailed to high-level depending on audience

  • Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) and Key Commodity Tracking

  • Ability to analyze Engineering, Procurement, & Construction (EPC) plans/schedule and provide insights into trends, issues, mitigations.

  • Familiarity with Risk Schedule Analysis

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectivelyExperience with Data Center construction programs

  • Experience with critical path method (CPM) scheduling methodology

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
