Engineering Technician II

Job Summary

Engineering Technician II assists in determining the operations required for fabrication and assembly of products as well as implementing cost- savings process improvements. Responsible for creating and supporting manufacturing processes for the motor and generator value streams. Troubleshoots and resolves issues, estimating time requirements for operations, and preparing operation sheets. Recommends and implements improvements and/or modifications in the sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters in order to increase efficiency and cost savings.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create production routines for motors and generators in Oracle.

  • Review existing production routines as needed for revision, rate, and work center inaccuracies.

  • Write and edit Job Instruction Breakdown-s (JIB) and Work Instructions (WI).

  • Works directly with Value Stream Leaders to troubleshoot and resolve vulerability constraints and bottlenecks, create set up improvements.

  • Measures variances to standards, identifies out-of-control variances, investigates causes, and suggests solutions.

  • Collaborates with cross functional teams

  • Provides shop floor support as needed

  • Develops methods for measuring work performance against standards.

  • Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Two year technical degree or equivalent related experience (Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering preferred)

  • Commitment to company values and working with a sense of urgency in areas including Safety, Productivity and Customer Success.

  • Working knowledge of computers and office software such as Oracle a plus
