We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Manager EHS in York, PA.

The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

Job Summary

The Manager EHS role can expect to provide leadership, mentoring and direction to hourly, salaried and management personnel engaged in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety (EHS) activities related to a small to medium facility.

Additional Info:

  • This position is located in York, PA and offers domestic relocation

  • This position requires flexibility in supporting other shifts

  • This role is 100% on site with no opportunity for hybrid or remote schedules

  • This position requires up to 5% domestic travel

What You Will Do:

  • Create a collaborative environment among team members, internal customers, and external suppliers.

  • Help management understand environmental, health, and safety requirements.

  • Monitor and communicate the impact of upcoming regulations.

  • Tailor our Best Management Practices to suit facility needs.

  • Identify hazards and establish protection guidelines in collaboration with corporate EHS.

  • Develop and review environmental, health, and safety training materials.

  • Set standards for protective equipment and assess program compliance.

  • Generate and review environmental (EPA) and safety (OSHA) reports.

  • Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time.

What You Have (Basic Skills Required):

  • Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance : Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.

  • Sustainability : Knowledge of sustainability strategy; ability to integrate sustainability into the overall business strategy of the organization to build a sustainable business model.

  • Risk Management : Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations. Resilience under pressure.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking : Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. Adaptability to changing priorities.

  • Interpersonal Relationships : Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner. Ability to communicate effectively.

  • Prior experience leading a team of safety professional with proven ability to inspire and motivate.

  • Analytical skills.

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):

  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional)

  • Completed OSHA 30-40 hour course

York, PA is home to Caterpillar’s oldest distribution center in the network, built in 1953. There are 350 on-site hourly employees on 4 different shifts. There are also several automated processes in the distribution center.
